I build technology functions that create value. Over 20 years, I’ve led enterprise-wide transformations across the Middle East and UK — in regulated utilities, telecommunications, and diversified industrials — turning complex digital possibilities into strategies that deliver measurable outcomes.

My philosophy is simple: technology should make money, save money, or reduce risk. Preferably all three.

What I Do

I operate at the intersection of business strategy, digital innovation, and cyber resilience. Whether I’m presenting to boards, writing code, or redesigning operating models, my focus is on building high-performing teams that embrace change and deliver real business value.

Governance & Strategy Building technology departments from scratch, developing digital strategies, and governing multi-year technology budgets through zero-based budgeting and rigorous cost control in regulated environments.

IT Service Excellence Designing and implementing ITIL-aligned service management frameworks, establishing shared services centres, and driving operational maturity — including delivering signed SLAs across 17 entities within 12 months at Mazrui International.

Cybersecurity & Risk Providing C-suite and board-level advisory on cyber resilience, conducting CIS Controls assessments, and embedding security governance into operating models across critical infrastructure and private sector organisations.

Digital Transformation Leading cloud migrations, modern workplace rollouts, Zero Trust network deployments, and paperless transformation programmes. Recognised with EWEC’s Innovation Award (2024) and Sustainability Award (2023).

Sector Experience

My career spans regulated utilities in Abu Dhabi’s energy sector, telecommunications serving millions of customers in the UK, and diversified conglomerates encompassing 46 companies across heavy manufacturing, chemicals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and real estate. Combined with consulting experience delivering CIO/CISO advisory to government and private sector clients, this means I understand complex operational and compliance challenges regardless of industry vertical.

Beyond Work

I’m a Scout Leader in Abu Dhabi, helping teach around 400 young people about digital citizenship and cybersecurity. Explaining phishing and password hygiene to a room full of ten-year-olds (and their parents) is a good reminder that if you can make technical concepts accessible to anyone, you can make them accessible to everyone.

I also build things. Ignivera is a full-stack race-timing SaaS platform I’m developing in React, TypeScript, and Supabase — with multi-language support including Arabic RTL. It keeps the technical muscles sharp and reminds me why I got into this industry in the first place.
